TV Guide is reporting a couple of additions to the cast of Ringer.

Jaime Murray (Dexter) will be joining as Andrew’s business partner in the second episode with the possibility of more appearances in the future.  Meanwhile Zoey Deutch will be replacing Caitlin Custer as Andrew’s promiscuous step daughter, Juliet.  They will be re-shooting Juliet’s scenes in the pilot in the near future.

This is a busy week for the little noir that could, and The CW is out in full force in San Diego plugging the show. I also believe this is debut of their new slogan:  ’The Ultimate Double Cross‘. We here like it, but what do you think?

A second poster is available on EW.com.

Matt Webb Mitovich just took to TVLine to post his thoughts on the show, and it’s pilot. The good outweighs the bad and it’s only gotten us even more exciting for the Fall premiere!

Here’s a quick overview…

THE GOOD: [...] The show has legitimate merit, starting with the fact that it is quite probably the most adult piece of programming in The CW’s history. I mean, save for Siobhan’s rebellious stepbrat, there’s not a ‘tween, teen or twentysomething to be seen.

THE COULD-BE BETTER: Nothing jumps out at me as being terribly problematic, though Carbonell’s character — if worthy of his G-man badge — would be wise to someday soon put two and two together, with regards to his AWOL witness and the identical twin sister he just met.

TVLINE BOTTOM LINE: Let’s hope that those who appreciate tightly wound, borderline-psychological drama find it and stick with it.

Canada.com reports that the popular Canadian broadcaster ‘Global’ features Ringer on its fall schedule.

We’ll announced pick-ups by other English-speaking networks as they are announced.

In an interview with EW.com conducted before the show was picked up to series, Peter Traugott speaks a little about how Ringer will work on a weekly basis and why he thinks Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans will like the show.

“It’s a very different show. I mean, Buffy is so specific and a great, cool genre piece,” Traugott says. “But in the same way with Sarah, I think what’s remarkable about her as an actor—and very few people have this ability—she can play both sides well. If you remember Cruel Intentions, she was the villain, but you found yourself kind of rooting for her anyway. That’s what we’re looking for. How do we find something where her character has some edge, there’s some darkness to her, she doesn’t always do the right thing, but at the end of the day, you’re also rooting for her? And that’s what we were looking for in this. Obviously, Buffy was a hero, a kick-ass hero, and we wanted to be true to that with Sarah.”

The company behind such visually impressive features such as Avatar, Black Swan and Speed Racer; and television shows such as Lost, Pushing Daisies and Bones have been announced as the studio working on the series which will presumably have to feature clean shots of Sarah Michelle Gellar working with herself naturally, and other stylized thriller elements.

Clips of their previous work is available to stream on their website.

Talking to IGN‘s Eric Goldman at last weeks Upfronts. Sarah Michelle Gellar discusses the shows themes, her life and makes with the funny.

Gellar: It’s about demons. It’s a story of redemption. It’s a story of what happens when circumstances put your life in a direction you never saw and you’re trying to make amends for it, but you just keep getting deeper and deeper. It really goes for both girls, both sisters.
